What a song!

But this is a review so I must give the bad news. While I don't play clarinet I spend lots of time around them and people playing them and I must say if you played more confidently (use more air) it would sound much richer and fuller. Also the ending seems rather abrupt, even though the end of the song is pre arranged you should treat this like it's a live preformance by setting up the ending with your improv; whether is be a fast run or a very distinctive rhythm. I really am digging your phrasing though, very stylistic. You get a 5 from me!

Ubermazing as always.

The clean part was very high quality, IMO it didn't blend incredibly well (like an 8 on a scale of one to 10) but it was very high quality.

The distorted part was amazingly metal, Nathan Explosion would definitely approve. I have one bone to pick with the sound though. If you ever watch the show metalocalypse you'll notice all the muted picking has an incredible "thump" to it (the show uses real guitar equipment). If you could tweak your software to showcase that more it would be amazing!

untill next time

Bad-Man-Incorporated responds:

Thanks alot for your review man. Real equipment coming soon. The pedal I have for my guitar really kicks ass on an amp...but gets all fuzzy when I record from it to the comp, and I don't want to mic the amp, due to the fact ...I'd never get to play.
Thanks again for another awesome review!\m/

It's the Boston track never written!

YOU ARE BACK!!!

OMG, it's been far too long my friends. I've never seen such a talented ska band that not making CD's! Only comment I must make is the guitar tone. The clean riffs sounded like you were using humbuckers that aren't very ska friendly or that you had the tone knob too far down. Maybe something like a Strat of Tele would help with that (just personal preference). Distortion is pretty good, usually not my kinda sound but it really works with this song!

Overall, loved the song, the solos were magnificent, and it's very well mixed. I feel that a guitar solo is in order though :)

Awesome, nice to see someone else likes the blues!

all the soloing was very well balanced and it sounded very prefossional.

Now to the review.

Originality: Another blues solo, while I always love them it's not really a fresh idea. 7

Clarity: Background riff could have been looped nicer, maybe next time do it all in one take. The volume was a bit too loud on the soloing (exept the clean one, which was WAAAY too quiet) and IMO the distortion was a bit much; but that's just personal taste so that didn't effect the score. 8

Diversity: Very nice solos, very will balanced and lacked repetition, which is always a good thing. 9

Effort: It's clear that a ton of effort went into this, I know what it takes to be able to solo at all, let alone that good. 10

Overall: Nice to listen to, you get a five! 10

P.S. how does a collab sound?

Just Perfect!

You must go back and remake this one! It so awesome! Only suggestion would be a weeeee bit more kick. And it's too short, I hate it when I get into a song only to find out its a short one!

Awaiting your next piece

MaestroRage responds:

I did have quite a few more ideas for this piece, and to be honest, this song actually started with the intention of becoming a hip hop track! Yeah, then I thought "maybe I should add this layer!" and then I added another layer, cuz it sounded too empty... and three hours later, it was waaaay too full to be a hip hop track. So my failure in one thing, led the creation of another.

I probably will remake this one day, possibly on a more appropriate time though, like perhaps Christmas time, or a week or so before, to beat the massive stream of christmas that is bound to come rushing in during that time.

Thank you for the review, i'm glad you liked it :D!

All I can say is...

There is a reason this song has gotten so popular!

MaestroRage responds:

Because I slaid 50 goats in my dark pit of death?!

You would know such things >:(!!

Seriously though, thank you for the review, i'm glad everybody liked it as much as they did!

Very well done, a little cliche though...

I may not have left any reviews, but I've always followed your music, you never cease to surprise me with your innovative compositions!

This one however, even though it retained that quality I always expect, seemed to lack the creativity. The whole mood this song created has been done again, and again, and again... The ending was a little abrupt, I thought it was a bridge that went into someting else, I was hoping the song would kick it up a notch. That might have given that "kick" it needed.

Still got my five though!

MaestroRage responds:

It's true, this piece though definately a weaker piece, is one that means alot to me. This piece has taught me alot of things.

For example, that Bassoon, is the first time i've ever used it.

That semi-hip hop beat during the choir part, also experimental

The trumpet solo, never used the trumpet before either.

Tried to break out of my usual epic mindset.

So I can understand if this piece seems weaker to people, less complicated and entertaining, but in my eyes, this piece is an important milestone, trust me my good sir, this piece opens alot of new doors for me to barge in with some french horns :D.

Thank you for your honest review, I can assure you future pieces will be more entertaining ;).

Not half bad!

Originality: (7) Yet another blues solo! I must say it's in the top 70-80% of one's I've heard though.

Clarity: (10) Crisp and clean recording! Very high quality in this sense.

Diversity: (6) alot of this solo is going up & down the scale, almost metal inspired in a way. Alot if licks are used a little too often. You seem very Slash inspired actually (no slam of Slash intended at all!) No issues there, he's an amazing guitarist, and I hear a little of him in your playing. (in the good parts) But try not to to play so "in time" (like alot of metal guitarists do) when it comes to blues, the whole thing sounds like it's being done to a metronome. Loosen up a little and try to feel it a little more. (I hate it when people use that comment to help me improve my soloing, but it's all I can think of) If u want I'll record a 12 bar blues progression for you (just guitar, no drums or bass), just name the key and give me a little time to record it suitably.

Effort: (9) overall, it's not bad, not bad at all!

Can't wait to hear some more

About time!

I was soo happy to see you've finally make a semi-mellow song! The background guitar is very crisp and clean. Like others have said, while the clean guitar solo was awesome, it was a little percing, a little to trebly. Once the distortion came on any sound issues were instantly resolved. The Bad-Man Strikes again!

Bad-Man-Incorporated responds:

haha, thanks alot man! Your reviews always kick arse!! Got a more mellow one Im tinkering with at the moment. Might take a while...using REASON..but..It will come eventually. Thanks for the cool review man!~\m/
